Freeman French Freeman completed an 8,000 square-foot renovation and fit-up in record time for SLATE, one of the region’s favorite home and lifestyle retailers.

An expansive showroom floor, space for people to gather, as well as ample shipping & receiving areas were designed to support the brand’s brick-and-mortar needs.

Formerly an artist’s studio and warehouse, the design team completely reconfigured the existing space. Custom-designed casework supports retail displays and point-of-sale needs. A new interior vestibule improves energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

A new glazed entry along with fresh paint, lighting and signage heighten the street presence of the building and allow for instant brand recognition and improved visibility from nearby Pine Street.

The work required close coordination with local authorities to resolve code deficiencies, which allowed the business to open in time for the peak holiday season.
