South Hall

Norwich University

FFF worked with PDRP of Boston to deliver Norwich University’s first LEED-certified building and first residence hall in 21 years. The five-story brick building houses up to 284 students and is the future benchmark for all new construction and renovation projects.

The five-story dormitory is tucked into a stand of mature pines and offers spectacular mountain views. Interior finishes incorporate sustainably harvested wood, low-VOC paints, Vermont-made furniture and locally quarried granite.

Sought-after amenities include a fitness center, group living rooms, laundry facilities, and bicycle storage. Each floor also includes study rooms and open and closed lounge areas that feature locally made furniture and materials.

Based on the success of South Hall, Norwich University chose FFF to design a second civilian dormitory on campus in 2011. Three years later, Dalrymple Hall opened in time to welcome incoming students for the fall 2014 semester.
