Dalrymple Hall

Norwich University

Norwich University partnered with FFF to design Dalrymple Hall, a second 286-bed dormitory built to house the military college’s growing civilian student population.

The five-story building is modeled after South Hall, a joint project of FFF and PDRP that opened in 2009 and proved to be wildly popular with incoming students.

Like South Hall, Dalrymple Hall is a LEED Gold certified dormitory that features Vermont hardwoods, stone and brick. Student amenities include lounge areas, a game room, exercise facility, and on-site laundry.

The building was designed with energy efficiency in mind, and features an exceptionally tight building envelope and all LED lighting. Heat and hot water come from the university’s state-of-the-art biomass plant, which FFF completed in 2013. These features and others earned West Hall a “Best of the Best” award from Efficiency Vermont in the Large Commercial Building category, as well as LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
