After years of planning and fundraising, the Greater Burlington YMCA opened its new facility at 266 College Street on January 1, 2020.

The fully accessible facility includes two pools, a gym, running/walking track, three fitness studios, a large workout space bathed in natural light, and an expanded drop-in child care center.

To further the Y’s mission, 10,000 square feet of the new facility is dedicated to the Y’s 5-Star early education programs for infants through pre-K.

Innovative mechanical systems reduce energy use in a building with high energy and ventilation requirements. A cutting-edge “smart” storm water management system helps keep Lake Champlain clean.

The Y has doubled its membership since opening the new facility, and created dozens of new childcare spots with its expanded childcare center. “Simply put, the Y’s new home allows us to do better, to expand upon who we serve, and help build a stronger community to address the challenges we face,” says Kyle Dodson, Executive Director.
